The building is the middle part of a corridor house consisting of 5 independent units. The year of construction is given as the 18th century. The part of the building that has been worked on was last renovated in 1975. The extension was partially renovated again in 1985 and the most recent exterior works in 2017. Apart from a recently completed renovation of the part of the apartment building located at the northern end facing Motorenstrasse, the measures taken so far are of rather low quality in terms of monument preservation.

The ground floor will be opened up completely. On the communal wall facing the southern buildings, the access, a kitchenette and a small bathroom are now housed in a uniformly designed box. The floor will be lowered to the level of the passageway. For this purpose, the existing floor has to be demolished and rebuilt. However, the original windows for lighting the basement rooms remain and are now ground floor level windows. The basement will be excavated accordingly and used as a technical and storage room. As before, access will be via an exit covered by a hatch.

The building is accessed via the central, newly created inner courtyard. This also illuminates the inner parts of the building via the skylights in the attic. From the rooms bordering the courtyard, there are numerous visual connections via interior windows.

Two bedrooms and a shared bathroom are built into the attic. The rooms are lit via the skylights. Flaps provided in the skylights serve for ventilation and an annual cleaning of the same.
